INVESTIGATING MISSING, ABDUCTED,
OR RUNAWAY CHILDREN

Instructor: Lisa Edwards

ST 114
3 CEUs
Tuition: $ 50.00

Course SynopsisIn this course, you will learn how to tell whether you are dealing with an abduction or a runaway.  We’ll discuss how some of the latest information on child abductions can help develop profiles for both abductor and victim, and we'll underscore how quickly investigators need to work to bring a child back safely. We will also discuss why the Private Investigator who puts in all the hours, follows all the leads, and finds the missing child — will not be the one to ‘pick up’ the child and physically bring them home to their parents — if they’re smart, reputable investigators.

You’ll learn how and when the FBI should be called in, and how technology can help you track a teenage runaway.

The course will also address ways to deal with your clients, when to make sure your client knows all of the national options to help in the search for their child, why ‘tough love’ may not be the best course for your clients to take when dealing with a teenage runaway. Remember, if this is a new situation for your clients, they will be looking to you for advice, direction, and yes, even hope.
