Course Synopsis: This course will introduce the student to the wide-open arena involving security on the high seas. Topics covered will include a review of the several organizations and agencies that regulate commerce, their functions, and terminology used. We will review incidents of terrorist activity that have created new international security issues. The course will introduce the student to methods employed by security personnel as they work to protect ships, their passengers, and their crews.
