LEGAL CONCEPTS AND THE LAW
FOR PRIVATE INVESTIGATORS

Instructor: Geoffrey Tait

LEG 2105
4 CEUs
Tuition: $ 70.00

Course Synopsis: The purpose of this course is to introduce the Private Investigator to what role you play in the context of The Law.

Like peace officers, everything the private investigator does is affected by The Law. Not only do PIs frequently work for lawyers, the long-term careers and everyday work of private investigators is tightly controlled by The Law. Private Investigators must operate within a tenuous legal framework.

This course will introduce the student to three topics:
1. The Law, generally
2. Rules of Evidence
3. Burden of Proof.

At the end of each section you’ll be asked to try some exercises to test your knowledge and understanding of what you’ve just read. They won’t affect your overall score, but they will help you determine your level of understanding.

By the end of the course you should be well versed on the subject of legal analysis for private investigators.
