Course Synopsis: This course meets the Texas Private Security Bureau requirement of 2006 for two (2) continuing education (CE) credits relating to the review of Texas Occupations Code 1702 and the Board’s Administrative Rules, Tex. Admin. Code 37 T.A.C. 35 for renewal of a Texas Private Investigator's license, as well as two (2) continuing education (CE) credits for Ethics.

The course covers the basic premises of what ethics is, how it relates to the private investigations business, and how it relates to the standards of conduct established by the Texas Private Security Board. The course discusses what constitutes a conflict of interest, how it can affect the business and what to be aware of when dealing with some of the issues. Students will learn their responsibilities as required by the Texas Private Security Bureau, what ethics entails, the standard of conduct to which one should adhere in their business, and how a conflict of interest can be avoided in their business. Students will also be introduced to the Administrative Rules of the Texas Private Security Bureau, and will learn how those rules affect the PI's performance.
