Ann Ball



Ann Ball received her Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Houston in 1973, has been an author and lecturer for twenty years, is approved by the Texas Private Security Bureau as a training instructor (I-333), and teaches classes in private security at the Houston Police Academy. 

Since 1981 she has been active in ASSIST (Association of Security Services and Investigators of the State of Texas), was the state secretary from 1984-1988, edited the ASSIST Update, a quarterly newspaper, from 1991-1993, and was President of the Greater Houston Chapter from 1997-1999. In 1987 Ann developed programmed instruction curriculum for unarmed guards under directive of the Louisiana State Board of Private Security Examiners.

Ann worked to establish and became one of the first members of the liaison committee between the Houston Police Department and the local security industry. She is the secretary of the current HPD S. Central LEAPS (Law Enforcement and Private Security) business PIP (public interaction program). 

Ms. Ball is the owner and licensed manager of All State Guard Service, Inc, located in Houston, Texas, having first begun working there in 1981 as a part time employee. She obtained a security officer commission and was registered as a private investigator in 1982, then purchased controlling interest in All State in 1992. She holds a license through T.P.S.B. as a security services contractor.
